Why we built it

We built YTTranscript.AI to fix that: paste a link and get the complete, timestamped transcript instantly — then, if you want, run AI actions to summarize it, generate a study guide, write a blog post, or translate it into another language. What used to take hours now takes seconds.

How it works

When you paste a YouTube URL, we retrieve the video's publicly available caption track (either creator-uploaded or YouTube's auto-generated captions), then clean and format it into readable text with timestamps. No audio is re-processed on our end — we work with the captions YouTube already serves, which is why results are fast and accurate. Our AI features run on top of that transcript to produce summaries, mindmaps, quizzes, and more.
